Nimbus SC35 Boat Overview
The Nimbus SC35 takes the comfort and craft of a Nimbus Coupe and puts it on a sport cruiser’s hull. That hull is borrowed from the Sport Tender 35. It is fast, dry and settled when the sea gets lively, and it carries the solid feel of a much heavier boat. Nimbus has not built anything quite like it before.
It also refuses to be just one kind of boat. Fish from the stern in the morning, swim from the side balcony at lunchtime, then cross the bay for dinner. Stay on at anchor for the weekend, or take it away for the whole summer. The boat you want to drive and the boat you want to live aboard turn out to be the same one.

Nimbus SC35 Video Walkthrough
video coming soon…
Underneath the Nimbus SC35 is the air-lubricated, twin-stepped hull of the 35 series, the same one the boat testers drove at Cannes this September. It is vacuum-infused in one piece, beams included, around a Divinycell core. That makes it stiff, light and well insulated all at once.
Nimbus then applied the same thinking above the waterline. The saloon, cabin sides and galley are built from as few parts as possible. On the water that means:
- no creaks and no squeaks
- a low planing threshold
- a ride that stays free of slamming in a chop, even when you hold your speed
The same hull on the Sport Tender 35 reached 48.5 knots with twin Mercury Verado V8 300s in Mercury Marine’s sea trials in August. Nimbus Chief Designer Joacim Gustavsson describes the idea simply. In car language a coupé is the sporty one. In Nimbus language it is the boat you live on. The SC35 is both.

Three living spaces that change with the day
The Nimbus SC35 has a foredeck, an aft deck and a saloon, and each one earns its keep several times over.
Foredeck. With the cushions off, it is a proper working deck with secure, non-slip footing for boarding and handling lines. With the cushions and sun beds out, it is the biggest place on board to lie in the sun. Raise the table and eight people can sit down to lunch with the view dead ahead.
Aft deck. An L-shaped sofa with a backrest all round seats five or six at the table. Fold the backrest halfway forward to face the stern with your feet towards the bathing platform. Fold it flat and you have a sun bed. The side balcony lowers to the water at anchor. For anyone who fishes, the sofa seat lifts to give you room to stand at the stern, with fillet surfaces built in.
The canopy. It was designed in from the start rather than added later. Side panels pull out from the door posts in moments and the aft panel folds up into the roof. The aft deck goes from open and airy to sheltered from wind and water without any fuss. A sliding glass door links it to the saloon as standard. Add the optional electrically lowered window and folding glass door, and the two spaces become one big room.
The Sidewalk: easy on, easy off
The Sidewalk is the asymmetrical deck layout at the heart of every Nimbus Coupé. To starboard, the side deck is extra wide from aft deck to bow, so getting on and off is easy and safe along the whole side. To port, the deck is raised, which hands the space to the interior. You get a bigger saloon and proper headroom down into the mid cabin.
At the helm, a new side door slides open straight onto the side deck. Below it, a small gate in the hull opens for stepping directly onto the quay. Add joystick docking and an integrated bow thruster, and one person can bring the boat alongside single-handed.
Helm and dash
The helm sits to starboard beside the Sidewalk, and it is the same uncluttered layout as the Sport Tender 35. Throttle, wheel and paddle-mounted wipers are all close to hand, with the horn and volume control on the wheel itself. Choose a single 16-inch display or two 12-inch screens, both running Nimbus’s own interface. The dashboard is finished in matte anthracite, so nothing reflects in the windscreen.
Saloon and galley
The saloon is where the Nimbus SC35 shows its coupé side. Everyone travels in one warm, dry room, and whoever is cooking stays part of the conversation. The galley is built into the superstructure with a gas or electric hob, a double sink with a generous mixer tap, and clean fronts with nothing to snag on.
The dinette sets for a proper dinner, drops into a lounge for the evening (add the optional fold-down screen for a film), and makes up into a bed for the night. Under way, the front sofa flips so two people ride facing forward.
Glass roof hatches slide open to the sky, and fixed glass over the aft deck lets the daylight in. The solid roof, rather than canvas, keeps the saloon quiet and dry.
Below deck
Ventilation: built in and out of sight, with a large foredeck hatch that takes bags down on arrival and lets the warm air out after a hot day in harbour
Fore cabin: a larger, wider double berth, with wardrobes as standard for longer trips
Head: with a shower
Mid cabin: easy to get into, thanks to the headroom the raised side deck creates

Engine options
Nimbus believes in the right engines for the boat. The Nimbus SC35 comes with Mercury outboards, either a single V10 or twin V8 300s, and the twin V8 suits this hull especially well. Owners who prefer an inboard can choose a Volvo Penta D6, which gives the look of an inboard boat, a large bathing platform, stowage in the platform and a big locker under an extended sun bed.
Who the SC35 suits
It suits anyone who wants one boat for the whole year. That includes:
- the Coupé owner who has always wanted a sport cruiser hull under the saloon
- the Sport Tender owner who now wants to stay the night
- the couple who run the boat themselves and want it easy and safe
It is a boat built for company too: eight round the foredeck table, friends on the aft deck, everyone together in the saloon. It pairs the Sport Tender 35’s hull and build with the living comfort Nimbus is known for. That is what Nimbus means by Crafted for Living.

The Nimbus SC35 is the Sport Coupé 35, a Nimbus Coupé built on the Sport Tender 35’s air-lubricated, twin-stepped hull. It combines sport cruiser performance with a full coupé saloon, galley and cabins.
Mercury outboards are offered as a single V10 (350 hp or 425 hp) or twin V8 300s. A Volvo Penta D6 inboard is available for owners who prefer one.
The berth layout is 2 + 2 + (1), with a fore cabin double, a mid cabin, and a dinette that makes up into a bed.
It is the asymmetrical deck layout used across Nimbus Coupés. The starboard side deck is extra wide for safe boarding, while the raised port side deck gives a bigger saloon and more headroom in the mid cabin.
