Jeanneau EX Boat Range

The Jeanneau EX range takes a different starting point to most day boats – instead of adding shelter as an afterthought, it’s built into the design from the keel up. The result is two boats that let you decide, on any given morning, how much of the elements you want between you and the sea.

Both models share the same compact, light deep-V hull, tuned for genuine seakeeping and speeds of up to 40 knots when you want them. At 10.4 metres overall, the EX34 is a proper cruising boat rather than a weekend toy, with two cabins and a separate head as standard – enough to turn a day out into a night or two away without any real compromise.

Where the two models part ways is how they handle the weather. The EX34 Cabin wraps the helm in a fully glazed wheelhouse, with a wide sliding glass door that opens the whole space to the cockpit when the sun’s out and seals it up when it isn’t. Heating and air conditioning as standard mean the season stops being a factor in whether you go out at all. The EX34 Hardtop takes the opposite tack: a soft enclosure that deploys or stows in one motion, a helm station built for standing or sitting, and a roof rack ready for boards and bikes. Both boats are organised around the same idea – five connected living zones running from the aft swim platform through to the forward saloon, with the sheltered centre of the boat as the natural gathering point wherever you’ve moored up.

Jeanneau’s EX line isn’t about maximum entertaining, in fact quite the opposite. There’s no attempt to be all things to all owners here. It’s a straightforward, well-built platform for getting out on the water more often, in more conditions, with just enough boat and no more.
