Nimbus SW42 Boat Overview
The Nimbus SW42 is Nimbus’s weekend cruiser, built for people who want to make the most of their weekends and short trips. More space, more to do on board, and a boat designed to turn two days into something longer.
Built on Scandinavian design principles in true Nimbus tradition, the SW42 is worked out with care so it stays comfortable and easy to live with. It carries the award-winning Nimbus Sidewalk, opening up the interior and keeping movement around the deck easy and safe.
The interior layout and multifunctional seating are designed with entertaining in mind. Multiple large social areas give plenty of room to relax, swim, or catch the sun, whether that’s on the foredeck or aft. New folding side balconies add space and flexibility at anchor, and an optional hydraulic swim platform extends aft of the engines, bringing everyone on board that bit closer to the water.

The cockpit offers proper protection with a large window screen and seating for three. The standard open boat comes with a Targa top, with an optional large electric sun-top available for extra cover.
Below deck, four people can stay comfortably overnight across two spacious berths, with a generous bathroom including toilet and shower. Extend the weekend, travel a little further, and spend the days and nights at anchor with the people who matter to you.

The SW42 runs on the same air-lubricated twin-stepped hull as the Sport Tender 42 and Sport Coupé 42, with a razor-sharp bow section and a low planing threshold. It’s dry and stable underway, with a speed range that reaches past 45 knots.

Power comes from twin Mercury Verado outboards, either V8 2×300 hp or V10 2×425 hp, both fitted with Mercury Joystick Piloting and an integrated bow thruster for easy close-quarters handling.
Behind a large windscreen, the helm seats three and keeps the crew warm and sheltered when the wind picks up or the rain arrives. The new custom Nimbus helm seats are properly ergonomic, with lateral support that noticeably reduces fatigue on a longer passage.
Simplicity and ease of use guided every decision on this boat, and it’s a feeling you notice the moment you step aboard.
Onboard Systems & Comfort
The heart of the SW42 is its lounge, a large, multifunctional space that adapts to whatever the weekend calls for: cruising, sunbathing, a swim, entertaining, a long lunch, or a quiet afternoon in the shade. Seating reconfigures to suit the moment, with sunbeds fore and aft for the hours spent in the sun.

A foldable side balcony on the starboard side opens the lounge out over the water at anchor. Folded out, the deck steps down to sea level and effectively doubles the social space; folded in, it returns flush to the hull line. It’s central to how a weekend at anchor actually works. The new extended swim platform is double-moulded and structurally integrated with the hull, while an optional hydraulic platform for the outboards lowers to serve as a passerelle when moored.
The outdoor galley sits aft, close to the seating, so lunch comes together without anyone leaving the group. New aft-deck seating adds side cushions that turn stowage into extra seating when the boat fills up. The open boat comes with the new Targa T-Top, styled after the iconic Nimbus 32 Ballista, with an optional electric soft-top for when more cover is wanted.

Who is the Nimbus SW42 for?
The SW42 is built for the boater who wants to make the most of their weekends and short trips. It has the space to entertain a crowd and two cabins to keep four on board overnight, so a good day on the water becomes a good weekend. For anyone who’d rather extend the weekend and travel a little further to spend it with people they care about.
