Highfield ADV Boat Range

The Highfield ADV range is a new breed of boat from Highfield – known for decades as one of the world’s leading RIB builders, but the ADV range steps away from aluminium tubes and hulls entirely. Instead, you get a fibreglass deep-V hull paired with slim, high-mounted Hypalon tubes, so you get the safety and stability of a RIB without losing an inch of the cockpit space to it. The result is a boat that handles like a sportsboat, rides like a RIB, and offers the social layout of a proper dayboat – not a compromise between the three, but all three at once.

Currently the range spans two models: the 6.98m ADV7 and the 9.2m ADV9. Both share the same design DNA – high freeboard for security on board, a deep-V hull for a dry and controlled ride, and slim tubes set well clear of the water to cut drag and noise. Where they differ is scale and ambition.

The ADV7 is the boat that started it all. At just under 7 metres and seating up to 8, it’s built for a full day on the water with friends – bow and stern lounges, twin sports-car-style helm seats, and a genuinely huge amount of usable beam for a boat this size. Power options run up to 300hp, giving cruising speeds in the mid-30-knot range and a proper turn of pace when you want it. There’s even a compact heads tucked beneath the console seat, so you’re not caught short on longer runs.

The ADV9 takes the same formula and adds serious range and overnighting capability. At 9.2 metres and seating up to 12, it’s built for the shoulder seasons as much as the height of summer, with a heated cabin, galley, and head below, plus up to 4 berths for those who want to stay out longer. In the cockpit, a U-shaped dining area converts to a double berth, and an optional camper hood extends the sheltered space further. Power up to 450hp gets you to 50 knots, with a cruising range of up to 250 nautical miles – enough to put a genuinely long day’s exploring within reach.

Both boats are built around Highfield’s slide-on tube system, which means easy upgrades down the line and less risk of costly damage if you clip a pontoon. The tubes aren’t just there for looks either – they improve water deflection, make docking easier, and add a layer of security whether you’ve got young crew aboard or you’re rafting up alongside another boat.
