Dear valued Morgan Marine customer,
New National Restrictions from 5 November 2020
As directed by Government, Morgan Marine will remain open for business services including boatyard, engineering, and moorings & storage. This means that hoisting activities will continue, and Yards will be accessible for essential maintenance purposes. Our Chandlery will remain open for essential hardware and convenience store supplies, although strict social distancing measures and shop occupation limits will apply. We will be encouraging telephone orders and arranged collection of goods. Boat sales activity will be limited to web-based and telephone sales. Pre-arranged boat deliveries will continue, executed in-line with Government regulations and social distancing requirements.
No overnight stays are allowed on boats, unless the boat is acting as a primary residence. With respect to how the latest restrictions effect leisure boating, the current Public Health England Regulations do not provide complete clarity, and we advise customers make their own choice based upon Government advice – but recognise that, in general, you should not meet people socially.
The Government’s latest Regulations state that a person may leave the place where they are living for “the purposes of open-air recreation”. As a minimum, this will mean customers following the latest rules of household bubbles, meeting only with people that they live with, or when alone, with one other person from another household if the place of meeting is exclusively outside.
We recognise that during these challenging times, you may be concerned about the security your boat if it is kept with us and if you are unable to access it. If you are unable to attend to your boat, please do let us know. Our team will regularly check boats on the pontoons to check they are secure, and we will carry out frequent walks around the yards to visibly assess boats from the ground.
The office is open should you need any support, although we are operating a strict 2m distancing policy and ask that face coverings are worn. In support of the intent of the National Restrictions, we encourage telephone interaction over physical presence, but will be on hand to offer expert advice as required. We are constantly monitoring our emails.
Should you require any Chandlery supplies, we will be happy to accept card payments over the telephone and deliver your goods to your boats, leaving them in a safe place where you can collect them without physical contact, or we can provide an arranged drive and collect service whereby we will place your goods in a designated area and you can collect them safely.
