Eastyard Walk-on pontoons

We are pleased to present our fully serviced walk-on pontoons.   Usage approximately 10.5 hours out of 12 hours on the south face and 9 out of 12 hours on the north face. The pontoons do ground completely out.  These pontoons are not suitable for fin keelers.  Limited spaces.  Please phone for details.

Lower pontoon - floats for 7 hours in 12.

Upper pontoon - are more "walk on mud berth moorings" again fully serviced, but float for 1 - 2 hours only out of 12. Ideal winter layup berths or fit-out berths. Access for the pontoons is from the yard car park, through buildings, accross sales yard and down the pontoon. The buildings and the pontoons are lit at night.

East Yard Moorings
Bow onto quay side with soft mud, will take up to 60ft vessels. Walk on gang planks for bow or small jetties. Electricity and water from pods on quay front which light at night for safer access. Floats most 3ft drafts for approx. 3 hours out of 12. Access is from the boatyard car park through security gate in east yard. 

Mud Berths
Low cost, soft mud, which will float for 1-2 hours in 12. Electricity and water are available in nearby pods. Facilities for storing a dinghy and arrangements can be made for a gang plank for walking on to bow.

South Channel Trots
On the south side of Cindery Island with easy access to the river Colne and sea, fore and aft trot moorings with excellent water. Most cruisers and shallow draft bilge keel yachts will not touch on low tide neep but can touch soft mud at low tide spring water. Not suitable for deep fin keel boats. No electricity or water. Access by dinghy or local ferry.

Approx 2 acres each yard with type I grey stone for good block up. Car access, gates open normal boatyard hours 8:00am - 5:30pm. Personnel gate for access for boat owners; 24 hours. Ample car parking space, Toilet and washroom facility in boatyard

There are Electricity and Water pods throughout the storage yards

For the winter layup period - 1st Nov - 31st March - Please book your slot early.  Last year we were almost full!

Big on security

Our CCTV system is on the look out 24-hours a day with monitoring stations on site and at staff homes - to give you the best protection. 2012 - we introduced high security fencing in East Yard with new lights and more cameras.

We understand that often you just want to be out enjoying your boat and don't want the hassle of launching and retrieving for yourself.

For one whole year, we will park and store your boat and trailer in our extensive Park and Ride Facilities.

Ample parking, toilets, water & electricity are available. Whenever you wish to be launched, seven days a week from 9:30 till 5:00pm we will launch you by tractor (you don't even get your feet wet). and retrieve you when finished and put your boat in the storage yard.

Chandlery rigging service -  targets the smaller diameters in terms of steel wire and rope.  We can offer rigging from 2mm - 5mm standing or flexible, together with a wide range of splicing - to complete halyards and standing and running rigging. i.e. the racing dinghy through to the small 23' cruiser market.  Don't forget - the shop is open 7 days a week.  This service is also handy for DIY projects at home.  e.g. garage door counterweights, gym equipment or even holding that beach hut down against the wind!  The applications are far and wide.  Please ask for Jeremy Snelling in the chandlery.

The boatyard rigging service - we can survey, suggest and action any rigging requirement, together with running rigging and splicing.  We are able to de-step and step masts, offer repair work to masts including pop rivetting brackets, replacing aerials, navigation lights and 12V cabling.  We can supply and fit wind instruments, radar and so on.  Please feel free to ask us for our advice and competitive quotation if required.
